Microneedling

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is an advanced, non-invasive treatment, aimed at enhancing your skin’s natural ability to produce collagen, elastin, and other essential components of healthy skin. By targeting the outer layers, microneedeling effectively jump-starts your body’s natural processes. The increase in collagen and communication within the skin promotes thicker, more youthful skin with minimal downtime.

This treatment is particularly effective for improving the texture of the skin, hyper pigmentation fine lines, acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks. It works by breaking down old tissue and encouraging the growth of healthier skin. When combined with advanced growth factor serums, stem cell serums, it accelerates healing and reduces future signs of aging.

How Microneedeling works:

  1. Creation of Micro-Channels: Precision micro-needles are used to create uniform micro-channels in the skin. A single pass across the face results in hundreds of thousands of these channels.

  2. Healing Response Stimulation: Each micro-channel is surrounded by healthy tissue, which promotes a quicker healing process. The controlled micro-injuries trigger an inflammatory response, leading to new collagen formation.

  3. Skin Smoothing: Repeated healing processes over time build new collagen, improving skin texture and overall appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Does it hurt?
A: For minimal discomfort the procedure requires prior numbing the skin with a numbing cream. Post-treatment, the skin may feel tight but not painful.

Q: Can I use moisturizer if my skin is irritated?
A: Mild irritation is normal, especially for sensitive skin. Moisturizers can be used, but avoid strong topicals until your skin has fully recovered.

Q: When will I see the results?
A: While new collagen production (neocollagenesis) takes several weeks, some improvement in skin quality and appearance may be noticeable within 24 hours. Significant improvements are typically seen after 2-3 treatments, with 6 or more sessions recommended for more severe issues like scarring and wrinkles.

Q: Are there any contraindications?
A: Microneedeling should be avoided by those with conditions that severely impair the immune system, recent Accutane use, or stainless steel allergies. Pregnant or nursing women are also advised against this treatment.
